One thing’s for certain: TILT U had unexpected beginnings!

 

We’d always dreamt of an education branch at TILT, one that would offer performance-based classes free of charge to company members and training opportunities to our Austin community. Little did we know that one of our greatest accomplishments would grow from the throes of a pandemic. 

 

As was the case with many theatre companies, TILT made a rapid pivot to online operations as COVID-19 made an Austin lock-down necessary. And then, lemonade emerged from lemons. Soon, we were offering daily classes in acting, music, creative writing, dance, and even dramaturgy!

 

TILT U remains online for the time being, and free to all company members. In our next phase, we hope to create in-school programming that furthers our mission of shattering disability stereotypes through inclusive theatre.
